Back on the ground, I am glad that I chose to go for this peak and sacrifice my detour into the Westfjörds planned for that night. I had planned to bathe in the waters at Bláa Lónið after my arrival in Iceland, but this was more exhilarating ... the best physical challenge I've had in some time.
